Question About My CarPlay Installation Look

I’ve installed CarPlay and it works fine, but I noticed that other people’s setups look completely refreshed, while mine still feels kind of old. Could there be something wrong with my installation?

Could you elaborate on what you mean by "look completely refreshed" and "still feels kind of old". Do you have some examples of other people's setups that look like you expected to see/feel on your setup?

Yes, I added CarPlay/Android Auto. I just picked a refreshed-looking photo—it doesn’t matter what car it is, it just gives a completely different feeling.

Het enige wat me opvalt is dat het scherm van matige (Chinese) kwaliteit is en dus onvoldoende helderheid heeft om hem geschikt te maken voor automobiel gebruikt. Zo te zien heb je CarPlay/Android Auto, dus alle functionaliteit is hetzelfde.

Kun je de helderheid niet verhogen?

Dat lijkt mij ook. Sterker nog, als ik met polariserende zonnebril naar het scherm van mijn iPhone in de auto kijk, dan ziet dat er ook best flets uit. Maar kijk ik met diezelfde zonnebril naar het (originele) multimediascherm van Lexus dan is dat met of zonder polariserende zonnebril erg goed zichtbaar. Ook met veel zonlicht. Ik denk ook dat het in het aftermarket scherm zit...

Just to be sure, did you remove any protective film from the screen? Most of them come with protection for transport and installation. Sometimes it isn't obvious that it needs to be removed after installation

I don’t understand your question completely. Do you mean the screen feels old and nog bright? Or the software itself feels old and outdated?

Yes, I checked carefully and removed all the protective films. Adjusting the brightness made a big difference.

Because after changing the screen, the resolution becomes much higher, like in the photo I posted in the comments. Now it’s clear—the previous issue was just due to brightness and the protective film.
