Resultaat van een poll in de RX all generaties Group met meer dan 150 duizend leden wereldwijd.
Hello everyone,
below are the poll results along with my thoughts and conclusions.
What the poll shows

Core owner group: 40–60 years old
The strongest responses are clearly in the 40–50 and 50–60 age ranges.
This confirms the classic Lexus RX buyer profile:
• financially stable
• values comfort over sportiness
• prioritizes reliability, quietness, and ease of ownership
• often family-oriented or already past the “young family” phase

The RX is not an impulsive purchase — it’s a rational, well-considered one.
⸻

A solid presence in the 30–40 group
The 30–40 age group is not negligible, which is interesting:
• many likely enter RX ownership through the used market or hybrids
• often coming from German premium brands
• attracted by lower running costs and long-term reliability

Lexus is slowly attracting younger buyers, but the RX is still not a lifestyle or image-driven car.
⸻

Very small 20–30 segment
Very few responses here:
• the RX is often seen as too large, too expensive, or not sporty enough
• younger buyers tend to choose NX, UX, or German alternatives

This is expected — the RX is not designed for this demographic.
⸻

Strong representation of 60+ owners
Noticeable presence in 60–70, 70–80, and even 80–90:
• extremely loyal customer base
• RX is often a “keep-forever” car
• high seating position, comfort, and reliability matter most

This loyalty is one of Lexus’ biggest strengths.
⸻
Final conclusion
This poll confirms that the Lexus RX is a car built on trust, not image.
• it’s not bought to impress
• it’s bought for peace of mind
• it’s chosen for long-term ownership
That also explains:
• why the RX holds its value so well
• why many owners don’t return to German brands
• why comparisons like “BMW is more fun to drive” often miss the point for RX buyers
